Blue and Brown Sripes for a Dessert Table

Cake pops, three kinds of cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels and candies made for a delicious dessert table for this birthday party!  The background is hand painted acrylic on canvas so that I could match the color theme perfectly :)

These mini cupcakes are cherry vanilla flavored with vanilla frosting and a cherry on top.  Chocolate covered pretzels are yummy with the balance of salt and chocolate and are a great way to add to the color scheme of a dessert buffet.

Fondant Wedding Dresses

I made these white fondant wedding dresses as cupcake toppers for a bridal shower.  They were pretty time consuming, but they turned out so beautiful!

Cream Soda Cake
Madagascar Vanilla Cream Filling
Butterscotch Filling
Butterscotch Genache Drizzle
Chocolate Lightning Bolt

Our family loves the Harry Potter movies and we have been to Universal Orlando twice to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  If you have not been, I really recommend it!  They have a Butterbeer drink there that you can buy from a cart or in the Hogshead Tavern that comes regular or frozen (we like the frozen kind)!
I really wanted to recreate that flavor in a cupcake.  This cupcake recipe was one of my most labor intensive recipes ever.  I cannot tell you how many times I reworked the recipe, but finally success!
They are a delicious combination of cream soda and butterscotch that takes me right back to Hogsmeade!

Mermaid Pool Party!

These yummy treats were actually for my own daughter's 6th birthday.  I had planned on making the cupcakes look like the beach with little umbrellas (you can sort of see the chocolate shells I made in the cake pop stands)....however, the morning of the party, she asks if she can have mermaids on the cupcakes.  *sigh*

Oh well, I am used to improvising by now!

I didn't have enough time to sculpt entire mermaids (and not enough fondant made either).  So, I made these mermaid tails and dusted them with edible glitter, they turned out cute.  I couldn't resist putting one shark in there though.  She loved them, so that is all that really matters!

Teacups and Ribbon Smash Cake

I was fortunate enough to be invited to this birthday party, so I got to eat one of these teacup cupcakes.  Might I just say that they were delicious!  White wedding cake, raspberry filling and vanilla pastry cream filling with buttercream frosting *sigh*.

It was not only the birthday girl's first birthday, but the first time she had eaten any cake!  I am not sure how she can be a relative of mine and this be a possibility.  The poor baby girl was not too happy about getting this strange frosting stuff all over her.  I am hoping that in later years she will come to appreciate my baking ;)

Aqua and Green Apple Cupcakes

I did these cupcakes recently for a baby shower that was aqua and green apple colors to match the new baby's nursery.  They wanted something simple and they turned out really cute!

One note though, they weren't completely thrilled about the idea of fondant.  They said, "Fondant always tastes bad."  Well, I am here to tell you it doesn't always have to!!  Some store-bought fondant does have a bitter taste.  Bakeries use the pre-made kind to save time, it is VERY time consuming to make it from scratch.  BUT, it tastes wonderful when you do!  I always try to use my own fondant when I need to use it for decorations and accents.  (They loved the fondant after they tried it by the way!)
